FAQs
How long should my hair be before getting a wax?
To get the best results from your wax, your hair should be between ¼- ½ inch long. If it is longer, that is okay too! If you have shaved or trimmed within the last 1-2 weeks your hair might be too short for the wax to grab, and you will not get the best results.
I just started my period! Can I still get waxed?
Of course! Just make sure you place in a new tampon or menstrual cup before your appointment. Some clients feel more discomfort during their period, so feel free to take an over-the-counter pain reliever to help.
How do I know everything is safe and clean?
We are licensed professionals, we went to school, and learned all about sanitization. We never double dip wax sticks and make sure everything we touch has been sanitized and disinfected. At Pulling Daisies our mission is to be more sustainable and eco-friendly without compromising on cleanliness.
How can I prepare for my wax appointment?
The day before your appointment make sure you stay hydrated and exfoliate. The day of your appointment you can take a warm shower or bath to open your pores and soften the skin. It is also common to take an over-the-counter pain reliever to make your appointment a little bit easier.
Can I make an appointment to get waxed if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! We wax pregnant women all the time, as it gets more difficult to shave the farther along you are in your pregnancy. To be safe always check with your doctor before scheduling. After you give birth your doctor will probably advise taking some time off waxing, and that’s okay too! We can’t wait to get you back in and hear all about it!
Is there any after-care instructions for waxing?
Yes! The first 24-48 hours after you get waxed you want to take extra care of your skin. Avoid any activities that will make you sweat (i.e., working out, going into a sauna, laying in the sun, tanning bed, or sexual activity). Your skin is going to be a little sensitized after a wax and you don’t want anything getting into your pores causing bumps, breakouts, or ingrown hairs.
I want to get waxed but I’m so scared and it’s so awkward.
Waxing can be nerve-wracking, but we promise its not as scary or awkward as you think! Stay calm and comfortable and your wax will be over quick. Don’t worry about your hairy legs or smelly feet- we’ve seen it all and can assure you’re going to leave Pulling Daisies more confident than when you came in!
